Research is showing that insomnia impacts your pain more than pain impacts your sleep. It has also revealed that poor sleep quality lowers our pain threshold which means it takes less to feel more pain.

How'd you do?
The quiz was formatted on a scale from 1 - 40 (40 being best case scenario) and consists of some common triggers for sleep deprivation with pain.
1 - 10 You experience relentless pain due to a decreased pain tolerance (insomnia will do this) along with difficulty coping and challenging mood swings. Your executive functioning and motivation are at an all time low. You are feeling like it's difficult to sustain this sleeplessness for much longer.
11-20 You also experience more pain due to the decrease in pain tolerance alongside mood swings and difficulties coping with the pain during the daytime. Fatigue causes you to struggle with keeping up with your tasks and making decisions can be challenging.
21 - 30 You may be experiencing sleep disruptions, but you feel you are slightly more capable of dealing with the day to day pain and stress. You come in and out of moments of motivation, creativity and relative ease in decision making.
31 - 40 You You still experience pain but you more confidently navigate the day with fewer mood swings and less pain than if you were exhausted. You are more capable of making decisions, finding calm and motivated to work through your tasks.
The quiz questions cover just a sample of sleep disruptions that can alter sleep as sleep is an important part of the chronic pain recovery equation.
